Limb a small historical village in satara district, in Maharashtra subtly host an ancient step well called 'BARAMOTICHI VIHIR’. This well is around 400 years old with intricately carved designs galleries. One can go to the bottom middle of the well at water level to find secret doors to reach the galleries.

 How to go:   Limb, along the National Highway 04 in satara district near Anewadi toll plaza, is around 135 km from Kolhapur city. It is two and half hour from the Kolhapur city.

Fable has it: The step well was constructed in 1646 by Sau virubai bhosale. It was built as a water source for all farms and villagers in its vicinity. The well is octagonal in shape and was built to like dug-out Shivalingum, that is, vertical column with an arm extending at one side. Upon climbing down the stairs, it leads to an arched opening through which one could reach the well and on top of these opening, there is a gallery opening at both sides though secret roads and is known to be built to accommodate the throne of the king as a look out gallery.
            This well is 110ft deep and 50ft in diameter with step at one side leading to the bottom center of the well having intricately carved design and pillars to it.
